Peter is the luckiest person in the world. He was born in the one era of human history when river rafting was possible.
The river changes people. It simplifies life to something that is very real, very close to simple truths in a complicated world. Learning to row means remembering to laugh a lot, to have fun and to find joy in something as pure and honest as a pair of oars and a river.
He first began teaching rowers in 1982 as the Personnel Director for ECHO River Trips. He guided for Sobek and Steve Currey Expeditions on Chile’s Bio Bio River and was part of first raft descents of the Futuleufú River in Patagonia and the Grand Canyon of the Stikine in British Columbia. He is an instructor for the Northwest Rafting Company rowing schools.
